I like that your workflow goes beyond collecting notes and focuses on organizing knowledge. The combination of templates, metadata, task management, and refactoring is what makes an Obsidian vault scalable over time.
I think it would be interesting to compare workflows. Everyone seems to build a different "intelligence operating system" around the same platform, and that's where many of the best ideas emerge.
I also use Obsidian for OSINT! The terminal plugin makes it particularly useful as it makes it possible to bring in Claude Code. It also works really well for content creation.
Absolutely. Claude Code is a great addition to the workflow.
For me, the real shift happens when Obsidian stops being a note-taking app and becomes an evidence graph: ideas, sources, entities, and AI outputs all remain connected and traceable.
That's much closer to intelligence work than traditional note-taking.

Obsidian is a fantastic OSINT tool because of how customizable it is. I even have custom CSS to customize each vault's appearance.
Here are some plugins that I recommend (for OSINT, content creation, and everything in-between):
- Templater: it's great for making custom templates; I have one for Substack articles, court records, etc
- TaskNotes: my notes can be task on a calendar, Kanban board, lists, etc. They can have due dates, reminders, etc.
- make.md: lets you create workspaces within a vault, so you can subset & organize folders
- Tag Wrangler: if you need to refactor your tags, this is the way to do it
- Note Refactor: if you need to refactor & split your notes

- Iconize: visually distinct folders => investigator stays sane
- Find orphaned files & links: self explanatory
Obsidian also has a web clipper & it imports metadata, making it very easy to take snapshots of webpages!
